There’s a fresh new trailer out for Star Trek: Nemesis.
It takes big bucks to beam up Kirk’s chair.

PBI
So I’m sitting at the lunch table today and some lamebrain squeezes his way into the seat beside me. There was plenty of room on the other side of the table away from me but he decides to invade my personal bubble. He’s a PBI - Personal Bubble Invader. I hate them. My cat hates them too. Why? Because they are pathetic losers.
Other drivers often invade my PB at traffic lights when the come in as close as they can. Do they think being so close will get them where they are going faster? Morons. The rule at a light is to be able to see the back tires of the car in front of you.
A favorite ploy of mine at a light when someone is so close you can see their boogers in their nose is to put the car in reverse. The reverse lights come on and the PBI starts wondering what I plan to do. It gets them a little rattled. If you have a junker, you can even start backing up into them. Usually they do nothing. They don’t know what the backup lights are for and don’t realize what could happen. Get off the freakin’ road you slimeballs.
I’m on my way home this afternoon during a very nasty thunderstorm. My wipers are going full blast but I still can’t see 2 feet in front of me. Unbelieveable as it sounds, I passed car after car without their headlights on. These idiots think.. “it’s daytime, I don’t need my headlights.” I think, how do these people function with their day to day duties.
On a happy note; I got free tickets to the B52’s concert next Tuesday evening at DTE Music Theatre. They were mine for the asking via a Chrysler website. I paid a small handling fee of $6 and we are good to go. The tickets will be waiting at the door for us. Rock Lobster!

Product Opinions
You’ve heard of Epinions where you can find reviews of various products submitted by visitors to their website. I routinely check Epinions if I’m buying a higher priced product. But sometimes its nice to hear the reviews of experts before you buy something. Consumer Search rounds up all the expert reviews and gives its recommendation. Very cool and worthwhile if you are buying something.
I found out the other day there is medical condition named after me. It’s nothing exciting but my last name is in the medical books. Go to WhoNamedIt.com and find out if you have a disease named after you.
Remember I had a link to the song that’s played during the 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse commercial? I found it here. This site lists all the songs for loads of commercials. After you find your favorite song, take a quick trip to Limewire to download a copy.
I never thought I would say this. I really like the new Eminem song. Often he goes way too far but I still respect him as a good talent. Go to his website (which is very slick) and check the songs and videos for yourself. I was surprised he allows people to listen and view his music that easily. I guess he’s got the right idea about that too. Music should be free or at the least cost a whole lot less. I could go on and on…
My IE bookmarks are a total mess. What do you use to organize your favorite sites?

Flylight
I purchased a “Flylight” for my laptop. It’s a small goose-neck light that plugs into the USB port to provide a small amount of light to the keyboard. This is very useful when you are working with your laptop in lower light conditions.
“The DEFINITIVE source on the net for Star Trek WAV sounds, Desktop wallpaper pictures, icons, screensavers and other files for customizing the Windows environment” is Star Trek in Sound and Vision.
Napster is gone and most people have found an alternative file-sharing site. Here are some more ideas.
Want to talk with someone? How about Oliverbot? It’s part of the Bored.com website.

Free Stuff
We Love Free Stuff is a site that contains links to other sites where you can get all kinds of free stuff. We’ll all like that, don’t we?
I met Lil Bow Wow and Russell Simmons again last Friday. There were in the office for a meeting with one of the ad agencies. Cool.
Need a logo? Go here for some great ideas.
Pam and I have become somewhat addicted to “Whose Line is it Anyway?” Have you seen this show? These actors doing these improvisations are geniuses. Do yourself a favor and tune in to the funniest show on television.
The sprinkler guy came and fixed our sprinklers. When we went to turn them on for the season, something broke. An easy call to Don, The Sprinkler Guy was all I needed to get it repaired within a week. It’s funny that our neighbors were feverishly watering their lawns the entire time our sprinklers were broken. Our grass still looked just as good as theirs. It makes me wonder if we have to water as much as we do.
Mike D. mentioned the Turbo Encapulator the other day. Go to Acme Vaporware for a similar experience. Here’s a sample:
“Fulcrum and gratuitous packaging. Dataguards are about 2 angstroms per displacementand ,” said Michael, CEO of Frontsideback. Michael added, “more violent fulcrum ring and the 698995980 UAA Tester prohibited by our own John Stugelmeyer. While designed for replacing old or damaged Torpovapor bivalve chamber - is available on packets of some new kind of the time, almost …the rest hasn’t to date reached a level of conceptual verbalization.”

Wireless
I haven’t had this much fun since I my first connection to the web on CIS, Compuserve Information Service back in 1979. I’m updating my website while sitting on the couch using my laptop.
Last Sunday I purchased a Linksys wireless router to add to my home network. Now we have a wireless (secure) connection all over the property.
I have my iPAQ also connected to the wireless network and I’m chatting with my brother in Texas via Yahoo! Instant Messenger. Hang on, I’m drooling all over the place. This is really cool stuff. (Getting a tissue)
My next mission will be to get the iPAQ on my home network where you can see it in My Network Places. Then I can pull files from the unit and maybe even send files on the iPAQ to my printer.
With all these new devices coming into my home network, I’m thinking of giving them all names. Some of the ideas I have for a naming convention are: superheroes, the planets and cats. Anyone have any other ideas?
Sorry again about the lack of updates. We are a bit hectic around here with the passing of Pam’s father. Now that things are returning to “normal”, I’m hoping to update much more often. I have a few good ideas for the site and a ton of updates to the rants, quotes and egram pages. I also wanted to post images of the past FSB versions. I think it will be fun to see how the page has developed over the years.
This weblog is only 1 year old (this week) but I’ve had a page up for about 3 years. I’ve learned a ton about web design and still have about 10 tons yet to learn. Maybe the next version will be some cool Flash MX thing….Nah.

Voice over
Something interesting to think about: I have a phone that features voice-activated dialing. It’s a handy feature when you don’t want to dial the number, especially when you are driving.
While getting over my cold, I have developed a good case of laryngitis and I’m having trouble speaking. This morning I tried to call Pam my usual way by saying “Call Pam” into my phone. I got the message “Voice Not Recognized.” After a few attempts, I finally dialed the number manually.
I’ve read that in the near future, interfaces to our computers will be voice-activated. We have become very dependent on our computers and it will be even more so in the future. What are we going to do if a computer doesn’t recognize your voice because you are sick.
Just a thought.
Mike M. reminded me about a VERY cool site based on the best-selling book “How Stuff Works.” I featured a link to an article there about gas pricing a while back. The site is so good its worth another visit. Have fun.

Over-Populated
My city is pissing me off. They continue to let the greedy developers overbuild the area without regard to the strain its putting on the people already living there.
The water pressure was so bad this morning that I could barely get the toilet to flush. It dribbled out of the shower and I had trouble rinsing how my extremely short hair.
Of course our idiot neighbors that have to water their f–king lawns right at the time everyone is getting ready in the morning to go to work don’t help things.
We are going to move away soon if it doesn’t get better. Is that what you want?
We rented (and watched) Behind Enemy Lines last night. I highly recommend this movie.

Search Me
Big News! My site was awarded the prestigious Golden Web award. I would like to thank the academy, my family and all those who made this site possible. Thank you.
Kartoo is a cool graphical search engine.
If you like to collect fonts, then go to Blambot! This site has loads of comic book fonts free for you to download. I plan on using one of them to create a new FSB logo for the top of my page.
I have a terrible cold that I can’t shake. It started when I was down in Texas and got worse when I got back home. I haven’t been sick in many years. I can’t remember the last time I had a cold. I don’t think that I’ve ever had the flu. I’ll be better soon. Thanks for caring.
I am not looking forward to work tomorrow. Besides any work that has piled up, I will have to tell the “funeral story” over and over during the day. I guess I don’t mind that much. People are only asking because they care.

Flash Stuff
We’re back. Thanks for all the well wishes.
Sort of like fridge magnets, here is an excellent flash site that creates random sentences. You can change the nouns or verbs for some interesting “zentences.”
Scratchdisk is a neat distraction. Run your mouse over the pad and strange illustrations appear. There’s even some creepy music playing in the background.
It’s good to be back.
