I purchased a DVD burner over the weekend. I researched various models and settled on the TDK Indi 8X. It can burn a DVD in about 8 minutes and it’s compatible with all variations of DVD media.

What I didn’t realize when I bought blank DVD’s is they must be compatible with my home theatre’s DVD player to run them. I researched some more and discovered that 91% of the DVD players are compatible with the DVD-R format and about 84% are compatible with DVD+R. The confusing array of media was enough to make me scream but I think I’ll settle on the DVD-R format since it’s compatible with all of our players.

Now I can make archives of my computer’s hard drive and create DVD’s from my miniDV camera.

My comment spam has been eliminated. I used the MT-Blacklist plugin for Movable Type and it worked great. Not only does it protect from any future spamming but it also cleaned all the garbage that plagued my site. It’s an awesome plugin that has proved invaluable to me.

I got spammed. The-Meridia.com comment spammed me big time yesterday. They added a comment for every entry I created since going to Movable Type. These people should be shot. I can’t begin to tell you how much I hate these creeps who ruin people’s hard work by creating comments that advertise their stupid products. I would love to see them prosecuted and have their Internet access taken away - FOREVER. Then they should be thrown in jail. How dare they violate my site with their freaking comment spam! I hate these people.

In the meantime, there are tools available to stop this from happening again but I’m having trouble installing the module. I’ll get it working soon and the freakin’ assholes will never violate me again.

By the way, the web address of the jerks is: the-meridia.com. I suggest you don’t go there, they have a ton of popups and try add their page to your list of favorites. With their underhanded advertising techniques, I wouldn’t trust them with anything.
