Boxee

My latest entertainment diversion is Boxee.  It “focuses on a social networking experience by allowing you to get (and give) recommendations to friends who are also on the service. You can also share your media activity with friends and vice versa.”  Last night I watched a full-length movie that I could pause and fast forward without any hesitation.  The installation was easy and the program’s interface is easy to navigate.

I was impressed with the amount of content already available on the site even though the testing is in alpha stage.  Comparing Boxee to Joost is easy.  Joost had too many connection problems that I rarely signed on.  Joost’s content was pretty weird and I had to keep updating my settings every time I used it. I should check it out again, maybe they’ve improved.

So with Hulu, Joost and now Boxee I can literally cancel my Comcast subscription.
