Out of the Office
Sorry about the lack of updates lately. I just returned from a trip to Dallas to visit my 2 brothers. It was nice seeing both of them and their family.
But now I have to take off more time from work to attend a funeral. Sigh.

Gallery
The Gallery @ FSB is now online. After some real configuring, I finally got it working. It was a chore but I’m happy with the outcome. There are a few errors popping up so I’ll have to fix them. I quickly posted some images to test it out. The process is extremely easy. Having albums (and sub-albums) makes it a snap to organize all your photos online. I did notice opening an image seemed to be slow. I’ll check that out too. Later.
After tonight, there are only 2 more “hours” in the show 24. I have to vote this show to be my second favorite show of the season. My first is Farscape. Anywho, 24 promises to be suspense-filled to the very end. The promo’s say “nothing is as it seems.” You can bet that Pam and I will be there watching.
Don’t forget to sign up for the lively discussion at Network 23, my new discussion board.
The redo of my main page is imminent. I’ll be adding and removing some links and creating buttons for the new sections of the site.
My brother Jeffery IM’d me with this site. I thought the images there were awesome, you will too. Find one and make it your wallpaper.
Am I the only one who hasn’t seen Spiderman? We’re going tomorrow night.

Updating
I’ve been busy updating the site. On Saturday I put “Network 23” online. It’s my new discussion board. Today I installed and configured my image gallery.
Although its installed, I’m waiting for my webhost to remove “safemode” from my account. I guess Gallery won’t run otherwise. They should have it done sometime tomorrow.
Next I will update the page templates for easy access to the new areas of FSB and I have several new links to add and others to remove.
The day I have been waiting for is finally here. I’m listed at the top of the Google search engine when you type “Mike Feldstein” or “Frontsideback.”
A new site called Alexa, which also runs the Wayback Machine is now indexing Frontsideback. When its done, it will rank my page among all the others on the Internet. It will be neat to see a number next to my page and know that I’m included.

Network 23
Great news. I have a new discussion board running called “Network 23.”
Using Ikonboard, installation was fairly easy. The hardest part was getting the images to show up. A couple of CHMOD’s fixed the problem.
Go ahead and check it out and POST something. Network 23 is now online.
By the way, do you know where I get the name Network 23? That’s right. It’s from Max Headroom and is the name of the TV station where Edison Carter works.

The Mirror Project

I submitted this photo to the Mirror Project web site. It’s a cool place where you can upload your favorite photos. There’s just one catch; all photos must be a reflection of you in a mirror. It’s a neat premise that produces some really neat photographs.
I ran the photo through a filter in Photoshop Elements to stylize it a little. What do you think?
This makes me think. Instead of having a usual boring image gallery on my site, I will think of a theme. Anyone have any ideas for me? Let me know, click on comments below and type in your ideas.
In preparation for the new image gallery and the bulletin board system, I got an increase in my storage space on my webhost’s server. For only $17/year I now have 75 MB of space instead of 30 MB.
No I’m not going to say anything about getting ditched at lunch today. It’s not a very bright idea to piss off your IT guy. Didn’t you request one of those new, slim Dell LS notebook computers? Gee, sorry we’re all out of them. Darn it. Got a computer virus that destroyed all your files? Hmmm, I can’t imagine how you would have gotten something like that. Sorry that I couldn’t help you with it. Have a nice day.

First Google listing
After a very long time, my site is finally listed on Google. Type “Frontsideback” and I’m the first hit. Woohoo! I noticed that Googlebots have been crawling my site for the last few months but I didn’t understand why nothing showed up in their index. Then I changed my meta tags and now it’s up there. Next, I want to get “Mike Feldstein” at the top of the list of hits. Then I will really be happy.

Happy Easter
We decided to go for Easter Brunch this morning. Without reservations. Pam got back from church early so we could get a head start on the crowds. One place listed on Citysearch.com for brunch was closed. It turns out the place has been closed for over a year. Update your site, Citysearch. We drove to a couple other places (it seemed like hours) and ended up at Wolverine Golf Club. For $21 each, we had a great meal. Stuffed and happy we went back home for a nap. I love lazy Sunday mornings.
Pam’s Dad had to be placed in a nursing home yesterday. Bummer. He fell ill and is there for rehabilitation. It should be no more than a month and he’ll be back at his own place. I wish him well. Go John Go!
Ze’s page is worth another visit if you haven’t been there in a while. I love this guy. His irreverance and talent inspire me to do great things. Right after my next nap.
I’ve settled on this design for my page. Of course I will continue to fiddle with this and that, but I’m happy with the way it turned out. It’s all CSS and layering instead of tables and cells. Note how the boxes on the page are dynamic when you make the window smaller or larger.

I’m Never Happy
After a morning of fiddling with Greymatter, I went back to Moveable Type. There were too many features I missed that GM didn’t have. Also, not having my old entries really bothered me. So I’ll stop for a bit and try to get a new template working.

New Template
I’ve been playing around with various templates and decided to settle on the one you are viewing now. It uses CSS layering instead of tables for a more customizable interface. I can drag the nav panels on either side around the page and they resize themselves depending on the screens resolution.
Now I will spruce it up a bit and add some MT code on the right.
What do YOU think about it? Let me know. Click on the comment link below.
