Hear the Music
If you want to “hear” what Frontsideback sounds like, go to Webplayer. This site creates music from some algorithm found in the code of your web page. The sound created from FSB’s code is nice and soothing. It makes “good music to watch URL’s by.”
I’ve been doing a lot of photo-surfing at Photo.net. Great site, lots to offer, worth a look.
Noah Grey (of Greymatter blogging tool fame) has a very good photo site. I am very impressed with his work each time I visit the site.

Balloon Festival.
We went to a hot air balloon festival on Saturday. More about it later when I get the pictures developed. I forgot to take my digital camera so we have to wait until the film is developed. How quaint. We are pictured on the Official 2002 Hot Air Jubilee web site. The picture shows us relaxing next to the trailer waiting for the event to begin.
The Gallery isn’t working. Several error messages have begun to pop up lately and now its preventing me from uploading any images. From a quick glance at the Gallery support page, I may need to upgrade to a newer version. I’ll investigate.

Too Busy
I started to reconfigure my site with the new links but I got busy. Then there were 2 episodes of Enterprise, and now I’m out of time.
I met Russell Simmons of Def Comedy Jam fame today. Nice guy.
I enjoy watching various Earth cams. Remember the one at the 7-11 store? I still think its the best out there on the net. Here’s one in Las Vegas by the MGM Grand. It rotates so you can see familiar views if you’ve ever been there.
AT&T cable: quit aggravating my brother. He wants to add another converter box to a second TV but they say that’s not allowed. The wall jack is there but they won’t let him get another box so he can get the digital cable TV. Stupid people.
Then his cable modem was fried by a lightning storm but they have to come out to swap it for a new one. He can’t drop it off at the office and get a new one. Comcast prefers you do this so they don’t have to send a tech out to the house. Morons. They had better hope I don’t call them. It will not be a very nice conversation. I need to teach my brother the “fine art of whining to get your way.”
Is anyone else having trouble with the link to Powerloafing? Let me know. I suggest maybe using the latest browser and check your security settings if you are having trouble.

Things to do
I decided today to get back into creating “to do lists” for myself. They help me stay focused on what needs to get done. Of course I’ll use my Pocket PC to maintain them.
Website Things To Do:
1. Create image gallery using Gallery from Sourceforge. I hear its hard to install and configure. That’s OK, I’ll learn along the way.
2. Use Ikonboard to create a discussion board. I started with YABB but I had trouble. IB is much better anyway.
3. Redo all the templates for the pages other than the main weblog. The comments pages look like crap. I just haven’t gotten around to it.
4. Update the links to my favorite sites. I have a few new ones.
5. Publish the second part of my Fractured Quotes. Did you read the first ones yet? Better go over there now to check them out.
Anita commented on Douglas Coupland today. Yes I did read one of his books, Microserfs. Thanks for reminding me about it, Anita. I completely enjoyed reading it a few years back. If you don’t know, Microserfs are the workers at Microsoft and Coupland’s book tells of their exploits and the inner workings there.
My fantasy Jeopardy! categories would be:
Star Trek
Computers
Fast Food
How to look busy at work
Whining
Palmpilots and Pocket PC’s
There is something wrong with this guy. I love Star Wars too but, hey.

Dissed and That

You HAVE to go here for a burrito: Baja Fresh. I went there with a group of people at work today. It was great. And crowded. Call ahead and it will be ready when you get there. I love this place.
Don’t want to return my voicemail, pages and email? That is unfortunate.

David’s Helpers
So on Saturday afternoon we go to see David Copperfield at the Fox theatre. We bought our tickets the night before on Ticketmaster.com and by luck got second row seats.
While we were waiting for the show to begin, a stagehand approached and asked if Pam and I were married. He said that David uses a married couple in his act and wanted to have us join him on stage. Yee ha!
The show began and we were called up for the first illusion. It involved a large steel plate and we were there to test its authenticity. David had us both knock, tap and even kick the plate to make sure it was real. He made a couple of married couple jokes and had us stand on each side of a large metal box.
He laid down in the box and our steel plate was placed on top of it. Next a large sheet was placed over the entire box.
Before too long, we saw the sheet rising up in the air! He was passing his hands and feet through the steel plate and making sheet rise up. Amazing.
We were standing right next to this box the entire time and still couldn’t figure out how he did it. Of course we were pretty nervous being in front of such a large crowd but the illusion looked very real to both of us. He finished the act to the sound of a roaring crowd.
“Everyone give them a big hand” said David and we were shuffled off the stage and back to our seats. During the rest of the show he glanced at us a couple of times. We were his new helpers, we thought.
After the show, we hopped over to the MGM Grand casino to check it out. We’ve never been to the one downtown. We had a decent meal at the buffet and quickly gambled away the $10 in quarters we got while playing the slots.
It was a fun night and one we will remember for a long time.

OK, it’s working now
I have MT pointing to the correct URL’s and my main weblog page is working fine. Now I have to redo the other pages on my site and integrate them into the MT template. The problem is whenever I try to make changes to the MT template, the page doesn’t load. I’m studying all the the Moveable Type tags, and their purpose. Then I should have a better understanding of what goes where on the page.
Meanwhile, visit the Secret Files of Max Cannon - Redmeat.

Vacation over already?
Did I just have a vacation? Well, I’m ready for another one. The place is buzzing with activity in preparation for the Detroit Auto Show. The group I work with is directly responsible for the Chrysler part of it. They are going crazy trying to get eveything ready to give presentations to announce several new cars.
Some people are talking about how Chrysler is going down the tubes. After looking at the new Crossfire and also the Pacifica, I doubt it. The Crossfire alone is sure to generate a ton of excitement just like the PT Cruiser did 2 years ago. They also have the new Liberty and a new Ram pickup that are sure to help sales. Their displays at the auto show are always top-notch and often edge out all the competition. They always generate a lot of excitement that helps sell cars. It’s cool to be associated with these people when I go down and look at all the great displays. It also makes the hard work to prepare for it worth the effort.
Stupid but cool: I can now surf the Internet on my Pocket PC while its in the cradle. What use is this you may ask? None as far as I can tell. When I get it to go wireless or even via my cell phone, I’ll let you know.
