Really Slick

Visit ReallySlick.com for some, well really slick screensavers. You know the openGL screensavers that have come with Windows for a long time? Like that stupid maze thing or the 3D pipes? Really Slick has some new ones that will amaze you. My favorites are Euphoria and Skyrocket. Your video card must be openGL compatible otherwise the images just crawl by on your screen. I had to download a new driver to get the screensavers to work on my system from nVidia.

We’ve started with MCI’s The Neighborhood plan now. The best feature (besides unlimited local, toll and long distance) is the voicemail. It features an online Message Center where you can listen to the actual messages left for you, right from your browser. The Message Center also allows you to configure alerts to your pager, cellphone or email when a new message arrives.

Right now I have nothing but good things to say about the new plan. I will let you know after we get the first bill. I’m sure the $49/month plan will be about $59/month after the surcharges, taxes, fees and other charges are added to the bill. There’s even a charge for a program that gives cellphones to poor people. A cellphone is a luxury, and we shouldn’t pay for others to get one. If it was for a house phone then I could understand the need.
