Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Switch to a Macintosh
- No wires. The only wire coming out of the back of my Mac is the power cord. Everything else is wireless including the bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
- Sherlock. A meta-search engine frontend that works very well.
- Garageband and podcasting. I don’t use either but the ease of use is very nice.
- Dashboard and it’s widgets. For quick and easy reference.
- No searching for drivers. Just plug in any device and it will be installed automatically. My digital camera and printer worked within seconds of plugging them into the computer.
- iTunes. There’s a reason the iPod is the number one portable music player. On the Mac they are integrated flawlessly with iTunes. Music, movies and podcasts are a breeze on the Mac.
- Front Row. This app is activated with the Apple remote and brings a very slick interface where you can listen to music, view pictures, and watch movies on your computer.
- The Design. The all-in-one case with it’s built-in iSight camera, multiple USB and firewire ports, cool keyboard and “mighty mouse” make the Mac a functional and fun computer to work with.
- Speech. Last night I asked my computer to “Tell me a joke.” So it did. Then I blabbed away asking it to things like “Open Safari” and “Print document.” It was the best implementation of speech I’ve worked with so far.
- It runs Windows. But why would I want to do it? I’ve decided not to pollute my awesome system by installing a buggy Windows OS. The new Windows is accused of copying many of the features that the Mac has had all along. So why bother running Windows?
