Where’s My Camera?

Our first snow arrived earlier this week. A few thoughts:
1. If there is snow on the road and it is slippery, DON’T TAILGATE ME.
2. When its dark, turn on your damn headlights. This is even more important in bad weather. The spray from the salty roads makes it even harder to see you. If you can’t remember to turn on your lights, YOU SHOULDN’T BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE.
3. If you are too scared to drive any faster that 2 MPH, then STAY HOME.
4. When you are coming out of a side street, slow down. You don’t know how slippery the road will be. You may end up sliding right into me, MORON.

I bought a new Canon Elura 40MC mini-DV camcorder last Saturday. I checked online for the best price and found a good deal at Big Apple Photo. So I checked them out at epinions.com. They had a bunch of positive reviews so I decided to buy the camera from them. Now over a week later I still don’t have it. Their crappy website is never updated and when I called customer service I couldn’t get a straight answer.

Today I called again, got right through and they said the order should be sent out today. I get home tonight to find my credit card wasn’t billed, the website wasn’t updated and I never got email notification that my order had shipped. Losers. I’ll never buy anything from these people again.

An idiom is a “manner of speaking that is natural of the native speakers of the language.” IdiomSite.com has a huge list of popular idioms, their meanings and other fun information.

Related to Idiomsite is the Dialect Survey. This site gives you questions designed to see how you use certain words. Click on “maps” to see all the words in the survey and how they’re used around the country. This site is very interesting and worth a look.
